South Africa - Türkiye Relations 2023

Today at #UNGA78 President Cyril Ramaphosa and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye hold bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly, currently underway at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The leaders met at the Turkish House on 20 September 2023.

Türkiye is one of South Africa’s largest trade and investment partner in Central and Eastern Europe. Bilateral trade volume between SA and Turkey increased by 42% and reached to US$ 1,404 billion for the period of Jan-Dec 2021 which was US$ 982 million for the same period of 2020.
